Questions
Straight answers, no runaround.
The things customers ask us most — pricing, timing and what you get when the job is done.
We reply within the hour during business hours
- What does an Electrical Certificate of Compliance (COC) cost?
- A standard residential COC runs R850–R1,800. Larger properties, three-phase supplies, or installations needing remedial work are quoted after inspection. A COC is legally required when you sell or rent out a property in South Africa.
- How quickly will you get back to me?
- We usually respond within the hour during business hours. Our hours are Mon–Fri 07:00–17:00, and we answer emergency callouts around the clock.
- Do you work after hours and over weekends?
- Yes — we run 24/7 emergency callouts at R850–R1,500, with additional labour billed per hour. If you can smell burning or see sparks, switch the main off at your DB board and call +27 83 321 1868 straight away.
- Which areas do you cover?
- We cover Durban, Umhlanga, Pinetown, Ballito, Hillcrest, Westville, Pietermaritzburg, Amanzimtoti and the greater KwaZulu-Natal region. If you are outside that list, ask anyway — we often travel for larger projects.
- My breaker keeps tripping. What should I do?
- Fault finding is charged at R550–R850 per hour, and most residential faults are traced and resolved within one to two hours. Before we arrive, try switching off individual circuits at the DB board to narrow down which one is causing the trip.
- Can you install solar or a backup system for load-shedding?
- Yes. A small 3kVA backup starts at around R25,000, and a full 8kW solar and battery installation runs higher depending on panel count and storage. We size the system to what you actually need to keep running, then quote it in writing.
- Will I get a certificate when the job is finished?
- Every installation is carried out to SANS 10142 and issued with a valid Certificate of Compliance where one is required. We are registered with the Department of Employment & Labour.
